About the Project
The Town of Frederick Tree Program works to provide the community with an expanded tree canopy, which has a tangible benefit to our community’s vitality and wellness.
The program is now split into two components: the External program available to residents and the Internal program which will focus on existing Town parks and open spaces.
The External program will provide approximately 280 “vouchers” for Frederick residents to obtain a tree from The Tree Farm. For this year, the program will be available on a “lottery” type basis, with residents signing up and the Town randomly selecting 280 for the program.
The Internal program will provide about 50-100 trees (depending on size), to be planted by Town Staff and contractors on existing parks and open spaces. Exact locations will be determined by Staff, but will generally be spread out throughout Town.
