  • Competitive Pay
    • Entry Level-$95,189.10
    • Top out five years-$116,858.01
  • Vehicle Take-Home Program
    • Available for officers living within a 20-mile radius of the town boundary
  • Vacation Time
    • Vacation and sick time are accrued per pay period, starting on the first day of employment.
    • Accrue 9 hours vacation per pay period (234 hours/yr). Increases in accrued time at 5th, 10th, and 15th years of service.
    • Vacation buy-back Program
      • Twice per year, full-time employees who have worked at least 2 years will be allowed to “sell back” up to 50% of their earned but unused vacation time to the Town.
  • Contract off-duty rate $80/hr
  • Sick Time
    • Accrue sick leave at a rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 80 hours per year.
  • Paid Family Medical Leave 
    • Up to twelve (12) weeks of Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) to employees to care for themselves or a family member during certain major life events, including Parental Leave, Short-Term Disability, Extended Illness
  • Full uniform and gear provided
    • Department Issued Suppressed SBR’s
    • $2,000 loan for equipment assistance program
  • Longevity Pay
    • Bonus annual pay for full-time and part-time employees with 10+ years of service
  • Medical/Dental/Vision 
    • The insurance plans cover 90% of the costs for services
  • FPPA Retirement
    • All sworn police officers join the Fire Police Pension Association (FPPA) upon hire.
    • Plus Social Security Benefit
  • Bilingual Pay 
    • Additional $100 per month for proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking any language
  • Life and AD&D Insurance
    • The Town of Frederick provides full-time employees with $50,000 of group term life insurance and AD&D (Accidental Death & Dismemberment). The Town pays the full cost of this benefit.
  • Tuition Reimbursement 
    • The Town offers tuition reimbursement to all full-time employees. The Town will reimburse employees up to $3,000 per fiscal year.
  • Employee Assistance Program
    • The Town offers SupportLinc as an emotional well-being and work-life balance resource to keep you at your best.
  • Wellness Program
    • Free membership to the Carbon Valley Recreation Center to all full-time employees who receive a full family membership, which may be used by all family members who reside in the employee’s household (value up to $982).
    • Up to $900 reimbursement towards purchases related to wellness after the first year of employment
