Event Description

Join us at Crist Park on Friday, May 22 to start your Memorial Day weekend by remembering and mourning those who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. This ceremony includes the national anthem, community stories of service members, and Taps played on the trumpet. 

As part of the observance, we invite you to wear a red poppy flower or pin—a powerful, nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice. Since World War I, the red poppy has honored the memory of those who served and died in all wars, reminding us of the price paid to protect our freedoms.
