The Town has kicked off the preparation of its new Raw Water Master Plan. The raw water system is used to irrigate many of the Town’s parks including the Frederick Recreation Area and Centennial Park., and some subdivisions also use raw water for irrigation of parks and shared spaces. The Town intends to convert many Town properties to raw water irrigation over time to reduce the amount of high-quality potable water used for non-potable uses.
The Town of Frederick has contracted with a consultant to prepare an update to the existing Raw Water Master Plan. The goal of this Plan is to improve raw water service to Town properties, and current and future customers. The Plan will recommend and prioritize short-term and long-term infrastructure improvements that are consistent with the Town’s Strategic, Reliable & Sustainable Infrastructure Goal. We anticipate the Plan to be completed in 2024.
We welcome input from our citizens and businesses as we develop this Raw Water Infrastructure Master Plan.
There will be opportunities for Public Engagement as the Town moves through the process and updates will be added to this page.
The Town's consultant, Forsgren Associates Inc, is now working on initial development of the plan. This will include review of the Town's existing Short and Long-Term Water Supply Plans, the recently completed Water Efficiency Plan, and Comprehensive Plan.
