Community Code Enforcement

Community Service Officers

The Frederick Police Department has two full-time community service officers. These officers are responsible for enforcement of the Frederick Municipal Code. Officers are on duty seven days a week, hours vary seasonally.

Responsibilities

The community service officers spend the majority of their time patrolling the streets and alleys looking for code violations which adversely affect the overall appearance of the town. Weeds, trash, junk vehicles, debris, and other unsightly articles are a priority. The philosophy of the Frederick Police Department regarding code enforcement is to identify, warn, and then cite if compliance is not met within a reasonable time frame. They are also responsible for animal issues.
