Street addressing should follow the guidelines stated in ordinance 909 approved by the town board in July 2007.
Addressing requires a clean Plat.
Lot dimensions, lot and block numbers and all street names should be clearly marked.
The Town of Frederick’s address grid should be clearly labeled on the Plat.
The address grid is provided in a zip file containing ESRI shapefiles. To download the files click on the link, this will take you to the location the files are saved at. Follow the standard Windows instructions to download the file to a location on your computer. The data file is projected in: NAD_1983_HARN_StatePlane_Colorado_North_FIPS_0501
With AutoCAD MAP, Land Development Desktop, or Civil 3D open, proceed with the following steps. (Map is required)
Type MAPIMPORT on the command line or pick on the Icon in the Map functions.
In the dialog box that opens, navigate to the “DRIVE” and “FOLDER” where your file(s) are located.
Change the “Files of type” at the bottom of the dialog box to ESRI Shape file (*.shp)
In resulting IMPORT DATA OPTIONS dialog box:
a. Click in the Current Drawing Coordinate system area the icon button to set your Cord System, set and Ok. b. Click in the Drawing Layers column on your file(s) and use data field for layer name button, click OK. c. Click in the Data column, in the Attribute Data pop up window, click Create object data radio button, d. Under Object Data click the Select Fields… Button and set the info. OK, OK
