The Town of Frederick recently joined municipal leaders from across the country in Washington, D.C., calling on Congress for help from the United States Postal Service to update ZIP code boundaries that continue to create challenges for residents, businesses, and emergency services.
Frederick is part of the National Zip Code Advocacy Coalition, a network of municipalities working together to demonstrate the nationwide impact of inaccurate ZIP code boundaries.
Town of Frederick Officials met with Congressman Gabe Evans and staff from Senators John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet’s offices to share firsthand testimonials from the community, highlighting issues such as misrouted mail and packages, inaccurate shipping costs, lost online sales tax revenue, and in accuracy in insurance rate premiums.
Town leaders noted growing congressional awareness of the problem and will continue advocating for solutions that better reflect municipal boundaries and support local services.
