Located at the entrance to Downtown Frederick. Crist Park is named after James M. Crist, a prominent citizen of Frederick and Mayor from 1961 to 1964. Crist Park is home to the Miners' Museum, Memorial Wall, "Daddy's Home" and the "Centennial" art pieces.
Amenities within Crist Park include a playground, picnic area, gazebo, splash pad and a sports field. To reserve the picnic area at Crist Park, please read the Picnic Area Rules and Regulations and send in a Reservation Request by clicking the Request Reservation button at the top left corner of the calendar.
All reservations must be made at least 10 business days prior to reservation date.
The Crist Park splash pad is operational Memorial Day through Labor Day. During this time, you can turn on the splash pad, simply step on the yellow dome on the south edge of the pad.
Crist Park is the location for many of Frederick's events such as Miners Day and Frederick Festival of Lights tree lighting. It also hosts the Downtown Sounds concert series in the new gazebo.
Park fees depend on the number of people attending and the duration of the event. For the first five hours of the reservation, the fees are listed below. For hour in addition to your five hour reservation, there's a fee of $5 per hour.
Fees for Five Hour Reservation:
- 1 - 25 people (Little Freddie only) - $20
- 1 - 50 people - $20
- 51 - 99 people - $30
- $5 for each additional hour after the first 5 hours of reservation
- Reservations or events with 100 or more people require a park reservation plus a Temporary Use/Special Event Permit.
