[ARCHIVED] Carbon Valley Santa Cops Ask for Donations and Nominations

Santa Cops Golf Tournament

Santa Cops, a program that provides toys and warm winter clothing for children who may not otherwise have a gift under the tree, is accepting nominations for families until Thursday November 15th and donations until Wednesday November 27th.

The Bella Rosa Men’s Club recently hosted a golf tournament that raised $10,500 for the Carbon Valley Santa Cops program that will be distributed to all three communities of Dacono, Frederick and Firestone.

There are four ways to get involved with Santa Cops:
• Nominate a Family - If you're aware of a family in need, please contact the police department for a nomination form. Nominations can be taken until Thursday November 15th.
• Give a Gift - Purchase and give an unwrapped child's gift. Purchase toys or clothing for children ranging in age from 0 to16 years and drop them off to any local police department no later than Wednesday November 27th. Remember to leave it unwrapped so the police departments can assign it to the correct child.
• Hand Deliver or Mail a Donation - Drop by any local police department during regular business hours to make a contribution by cash or check. You may also contribute by mailing a check to the Town of Frederick, Town of Firestone or City of Dacono (checks only please, do not mail cash).
• Sponsor a Specific Family - Contact your local police department for more details on families needing a sponsor.

Other items needed for Santa Cops are hats, gloves, scarves and personal care items as well as items for wrapping gifts such as paper, tape, ribbons/bows and stick-on name labels.

If you are interested in volunteering to help wrap gifts or have any other questions about Santa Cops, please contact Pam Henderson of the Frederick Police Department at 720.382.5700 or phenderson@frederickco.gov, Beverly Medina of Firestone Police Department at 303.833.0811or bmedina@ci.firestone.co.us and Lyndsey Steele of Dacono Police Department at 303.833.3095 ext. 160 or lsteele@cityofdacono.com.

Santa Cops relies heavily on donations and corporate sponsors. We appreciate the participation and generosity of Carbon Valley residents and business owners who make this program successful.
