Mayor Pro Tem Laura Brown and the Frederick Town Board announced three final candidates for the Town Manager vacancy. These finalists were selected from a group of 65 applicants for the position. They will be invited to Frederick for a community reception, to which all Town staff and community members are invited. The community reception will be held at Bella Rosa Golf Club, from 12:00 – 1:30 pm on Monday, October 28, 2019. Community members will have the opportunity to meet personally with each candidate and provide feedback to the Board via comment cards. The candidates will be assessed through interview panels on Monday, October 28 as well. The interview panels will include the Town Board and Town staff members. The finalists (in alphabetical order) are:
Nathan Johnson – Mr. Johnson has served the City of Scottsbluff, Nebraska since 2013, first as the Assistant City Manager, and most recently as the City Manager. Mr. Johnson brings considerable experience in the areas of economic development, capital improvement, infrastructure development, downtown revitalization and project management. He has managed budgets of more than $40 million and has successfully partnered with multiple local and state entities on major capital improvement projects in Scottsbluff. Mr. Johnson holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Wright State University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Tennessee.
Bryan Ostler – Mr. Ostler has been employed by Adams County since 2011 when he was hired as the Director of Human Resources. In 2016 he was promoted to Deputy County Manager, where he has gained experience providing strategic and operational leadership and support to various departments within the county, including IT, HR, Facility Planning and Operations, Finance, the County Manager’s office, and the County Commissioners. Prior to his employment with Adams County, Mr. Ostler served as the Administrative Services Director for the Town of Frederick for four years, and as the Assistant Human Resources / Finance Director in Frederick for one year prior to that. Mr. Ostler holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado at Denver, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business & HR Management from Weber State University.
Kathleen Sickles – Ms. Sickles currently serves as the Interim Town Manager for the Town of Grand Lake in Colorado. Prior to this role, she served as the City Administrator for the City of Ouray, as well as the City Administrator for the Town of Cedaredge. Ms. Sickles brings more than 20 years of city and county government experience, including developing and managing municipal budgets, strategic planning, economic development, and grant writing. She has also worked in the areas of IT, Human Resources and GIS. Ms. Sickles holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Colorado at Denver, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Colorado Christian University.
