John Ober, Frederick’s Fleet Supervisor has some great tips for you to help you celebrate Car Care Month this April.
Tires: Ensure your tires are properly inflated and balanced. Get them rotated at every oil change. This will give your tires the longest life and keep them in the safest condition possible.
Brakes: Inspect your brakes or have them checked out by a brake professional.
Maintenance: Your vehicle needs more than just oil changes. Your owners manual will tell you what is required. You can also consult your preferred shop.
Windshield: If your windshield was damaged during the winter, get it repaired or replaced. Top off your washer fluid and check your wipers’ condition. Don’t forget the rear window might have a wiper too.
Battery: The cold temperatures and spring temperature swings are hard on car batteries, so be sure to get yours tested.
Wash: Municipalities and the D.O.T. use chemicals on the roads to help melt snow and ice, now is a good time to get that undercarriage wash.
Back up plan: When my family travels I make sure I have a roadside kit with me. You can look online to find out what you should carry with you or just buy one. I also communicate with a friend or other family members, what’s my route, what's my E.T.A. etc. Someone should always know this info just in case.
If you're not comfortable doing these by yourself, go to your preferred shop. Their technicians are experts and will help you any way they can.
