Town Board meetings are held in the Board Chambers at Town Hall, 401 Locust Street. The public is invited to attend all regular board meetings and work sessions.
Regular Meeting: The Board of Trustees conducts regular meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday evening of each month at 7:00 p.m. These meeting are held to conduct town business, and to receive public comments. Regular meeting dates may be changed when schedule conflicts do not permit a quorum to be present. Regular meeting minutes are posted after the Board of Trustees has taken formal action to approve the minutes.
Members of the public are invited to speak at regular board meetings during the public comment portion of the agenda, during which there is a five-minute time limit to address the Town Board regarding matters not on the regular agenda. Members of the public are invited to speak on regular agenda items during the public hearing portion of that item, with a time limit of three minutes. If you would like to address the Board as a separate agenda item, you must contact the Town Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the Board meeting.
Work Session: The Board of Trustees normally conducts works sessions on the first and third Tuesday of each month. However, work sessions may be held on days and at times mutually agreed to by the Board of Trustees. Although the public is not invited to speak at these meetings the public may attend the meeting. No official action or minutes are taken at these meetings.
Special Meeting: The Board of Trustees may hold a special meeting which would not be on the night of a regular meeting. These meeting are to conduct town business and are open to the public. Special Meeting minutes are posted after the Board of Trustees has taken formal action to approve the minutes.
Executive Session: The Board of Trustees conducts a closed meeting that deal with attorney/client discussion regarding matters required by law to be kept confidential The minutes indicate only the time the executive session began, who was in attendance, the items to be discussed, and the time of adjournment of the meeting.
Formal approved minutes of the Regular Sessions are prepared by the Town Clerk's office and are available on our website. Audios are also avaliable and can be obtained upon request at the Town Clerk's Office. The Town Clerk can be contacted by calling 720.382.5500.
All Regular Meeting, Work Session, Special Meeting and Executive Session Agendas are posted on the Website, at Town Hall in the outside display case, at the Frederick Post Office and at the Carbon Valley Recreation Center bulletin board at least 24 hours before each meeting.
