The Engineering and Utilities Department includes Engineering, Utilities and Building Divisions of the Town. The Engineering and Utilities Department manages the planning, design, construction and operations of the water supply and distribution systems, the storm drainage utility, and transportation facilities for the Town. The Town’s Electric Utility is managed by Engineering and Utilities Department through an agreement with United Power. This Department also manages the wetlands area that is being planned as an educational resource for the community along Highway 52. The Engineering and Utilities Department reviews proposed developments to ensure they comply with standards for all of these areas. Development agreements for public infrastructure improvements associated with new development are coordinated by the Engineering and Utilities Department. The Engineering and Utilities Director represents the Town in planning for regional transportation and water resource needs.
