The Town’s Draft Water Conservation Plan is now available for review and public feedback starting April 15, 2011 until June 15, 2011. During this public outreach period Town Staff will hold a public meeting from 4 PM to 6 PM on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Town Hall, 401 Locust Street. The public is invited to attend this meeting and encouraged to provide comments on the Plan. Written input and suggestions outside of the meeting are also encouraged and need to be received by June 15, 2011.
The Town of Frederick received a grant from the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) to assist the Town in preparing this Water Conservation Plan (WCP). Town Staff along with Civil Resources, Engineering Consulting Company, has prepared this Draft Water Conservation Plan as a measure to encourage water conservation. This draft plan was taken to the Town Board for review and comment and is now available to the public for feedback and suggestions. There is a wide variety of proposed water conservation measures included in this draft plan.
The Town has already adopted many water conservation measures as stated in the Draft WCP. The purpose in preparing this WCP is to expand upon the existing measures the Town has in place to further reduce water consumption, stretch existing water supply and help reduce expenditures on capital improvement projects. An additional benefit for having a WCP adopted and accepted by CWCB is that the Town would be eligible for grants and low interest loans to help fund Town water projects in the future as these needs arise.
